When you hear budget do you think of luxury? What comes to mind when you picture a Luxury Vacation? Luxury traveling isn’t so much about the destination as it is about the experience. You can literally have a luxury experience anywhere, even while camping (glamping is a thing). Today I have tips for you on how to experience a luxury vacation on an affordable budget.

How to Take Amazing Luxury Vacation on a Budget

1. Travel in the Off Season

Off season is the best time to get lower prices. Hotels, resorts, and airlines are desperate to fill the empty spots so they typically offer discounts to get travelers to visit. The good thing about traveling off season is that it isn’t as crowded, so you can actually enjoy the area and get the best price at the same time.

2. Join Hotel Loyalty Rewards Programs

There are many benefits to joining the hotel rewards programs like complimentary upgrades, free breakfast, and even free hotel stays! FYI: If you’re a hotel rewards member AND you’re traveling in the off season, you are twice as likely to get a complimentary upgrade to that beachfront suite you wanted 😉

3. Get a day pass

Is there a hotel you want to stay at but the price is outrageous? Many travelers don’t know this, but some hotels and resorts offer day passes to their pools and other amenities. So, you may not be able to afford $800 a night on a room, but you can spend around $50-$65 to get access to that hotel’s pool and amenities for a day!

4. Use comparison sites

This is my favorite tip. Sites like Priceline offer Express Deals. If you aren’t familiar with Express Deals it’s like booking a surprise hotel! It tells you a lot about the hotel, like the general area, star rating, amenities, and which hotels are similar to it, but you don’t find out what hotel it is until after you book (they’re are actually ways to find out exactly which hotel you’ll get though) The best part is that you save 30 to 60 percent by using express deals. This is actually how my friend and I paid about $100 TOTAL for a 4 star beachfront hotel in Cancun during spring break.  The picture below was the view from our balcony.

Important tip: Always check before booking or purchasing anything online! Ebates is a site that provides cash back on purchases including hotel bookings, flight bookings, and almost everything else you can buy online. I’m obsessed with it. Sign up here and receive an extra $10 instantly! So not only will you be saving tons of money with express deals, you’ll also be earning cash back through Ebates all at the same time!

5. Airbnb

AirBnB is probably one of the best ways to get luxury on a budget. You can get an entire house, penthouse, condo etc for less than the cost of one night in a hotel. I’ve even seen gorgeous beach villas on the Indian Ocean with private pools listed on there for less than $50 a night. Never used AirBnB before? Here’s $40 off your trip!

  1. Thank you for the tips. We often find amazing travel deals in April as the tourist season slows down. Works out great for us because our anniversary is in April!

  2. I had no idea about day passes at luxury hotels-that’s a great tip. We’ve also discovered Airbnb, using it for a trip to Ireland. The experience was awesome, I’m a big fan.

    1. Hi Stacey! I’m so glad you found this helpful! I loooooove finding luxury trips, especially places that are no where near affiliated with the word budget, and getting budget alternatives because travel doesn’t have to be expensive. I’m praying that you get to Dubai this year!

  5. Not just great suggestions, but WOW… really amazing places and what views your photos show. Very motivating to start travelling again 🙂
