Staying at Hotel Meteora in Greece

As you all know I spent 3 weeks in Greece (I’ll blog about each city separately.)

A few nights of our trip were spent at this enchanting destination known as Hotel Meteora

The Hotel

Hotel Meteora is a picturesque hotel with 63 guest rooms that sits at the highest point in the village giving hotel guests gorgeous panoramic views of the Meteora Rocks, which house the Greek Monasteries and Nunneries. There is also a restaurant and an outdoor pool.

The kitchen served a tasty continental breakfast and dinner daily composed of greek cuisine.

The hotel staff were very friendly and knowledgeable. The majority spoke Greek, but there were a few who spoke English.

Activities in Meteora

A trip to Meteora would not be complete without a visit to the historical Monasteries and Nunneries. These monuments offer a look into the daily lives of monks and nuns, while showing off breath taking views.

The Nunneries and Monasteries were not always accessible. Today there are stairs carved in the rocks to allow visitors to safely arrive at the top of the rocks.

  1. This trip looked absolutely stunning! Was it an expensive flight? What’s your trick to taking all of these vacations? Is there a website I should be looking on at a specific time to get good deals? I would love to go to Greece!
