Spring Break in Cancun!

There are many things to do while vacationing in beautiful Cancun, Mexico. I spent 3 days this March in Cancun with a friend and it was absolute Paradise.

I am all for spontaneous trips. My friend and I decided to go to Cancun about a month before we went. We stayed at CasaMagna Marriott Cancun Resort and it was beautiful!

This elegant 4 star resort is located in the Hotel Zone directly on the beach and its only 10 miles (17km) from Cancun International Airport. An airport shuttle is provided from to and from the hotel for a small fee.

For those wondering, the resort staff speak both english and spanish. & they were all extremely hospitable and accommodating. The natives of the island were also very friendly and helpful with directions.

Our room was a luxurious ocean front room with 2 double beds and a private balcony. The balcony had 2 chairs and a table. We spent time out here each night listening to the waves crash, and each morning watching the beautiful sunrise, which was very hard to get up for due to the extreme comfort of the pillow top mattress. Free wifi was also provided to us for being Marriott Rewards Customers (free to join, highly recommended).

There are about 9 restaurants on site ranging from seafood to Thai to Japanese to a steakhouse. Since we spent a lot of time relaxing at the pool and beach, our favorite restaurant was La Isla, which is the pool side/beach side bar and grill that served the best shrimp burritos I have ever had.

The resort is conveniently located on the bus route, so it was very easy and very affordable to get to shopping, ports, and activities. We used the bus daily as our main form of transportation to and from activities in Cancun.

There were many activities nearby and onsite, but we decided to go to Playa Tortugas which is about 4 miles away, to take the UltraMar Ferry to Isla Mujeres for a day.

The UltraMar ferry featured live entertainment and the option to sit inside or outside, both offered gorgeous views.  Isla Mujeres is a beautiful Island off the coast of cancun with various shops, restaurants, and activities.

Of course, no vacation to Cancun is complete without a trip to Chichen Itza! Other attractions near the Resort include Playa Delfines, Aquaworld, Wet n Wild Waterpark, and the Tulum Mayan Ruins. Theres something for everyone!

  1. Cancun sounds amazing! Was an expensive trip over all? How was the staff at the resort? How about the quality of the food in the restraints on site? I would definitely have to taste some authentic Mexican food! Do they have a lot of options as far as authentic Mexican restaurants go? Are you available to help book travel?
